Final Blog Entry: My Project Fahrenheit 9/11 Documentary

Fahrenhit 9/11 documentary by the director Michael Moore. This documentary that I saw is about the 9/11 tragedy. And also other matters and conspiracy that let to investigate the 9/11 attack on the United States.

For instance in the first picture that I selected, President Bush is in a classroom reading a book for the children. Then one of the staff members approached him to tell him about the bad news of the planes crashing on the Wall Trade Center. When someone sees that picture of Bush you see the President's shock that is reflected on his face. He looked like he was confused that he did not know how to react in front of the children in that class. President Bush from his expression continued with the class as if nothing happened. Also from the look on President Bush face he looked like that was the worst day of his life that he would never forget. As for my opinion, it must be the most shocking news of a President to receive during their term as President of a country.

In the second picture a lady talks about losing her son in the Iraq war. Because her son was a soldier that fought in the Iraq war. She was protesting that the Iraq war should not have happened. Because she did not want to bury her son before she passes away. She wanted for her son to have a long life. She also became one of the main protesters against the Iraq war. Always a mother grieves when she losses a son in a war. Because a mother expects for her children to have an enjoyable, beautiful, healthly and long life. I can only imagine that a mother with a son that goes to war might not comeback from the war. Because he might get killed during the war. When I saw the movie and this lady that lost her son, she was very sad and grieved.

In the third picture Michael Moore is talking to one of the politicians outside of the Capitol building. He asked the politician if he would send his son to fight in the wars. Some of the politicians tried avoiding Michael Moore's questions. As for my observation is obvious that the politicians do not want to send their sons to none of those wars to risk their lives and die for their country. It's really sad that the politicians have different rules for themselves when it comes to sending their sons to war. They never want to send their sons to war because they think that they are more special than the rest of the citizens of this country. I heard a comment that politicians like to send their sons to college to avoid participating in a war. This way they still have their sons alive instead of being dead.


In conclusion this movie showed so many things that happened during President Bush term. I could not believe that I was hearing and seeing what Michael Moore was investigating from his documentary. I really liked this documentary because it showed me and taught me how to understand the political system of the United States. It was also unbelievable  how some politicians were acting with so much corruption to cover up events of  9/11. I hope in the future we do not have to experience a 9/11 incident again.

Blog 21: Reflection

I, Paula Wilson liked the following blog assignments, " The Matrix", " The Meatrix" (factory farming) and " The Truman Show". I like them because the stories were interesting and also it caught my attention quickly. The scenes were very fascinating and enjoyable to watch them. I believe these three films mentioned above, I selected them because at that time with the professor's instruction plus the tutor's help allowed me to better develop my writing skills. And also made the professor realizes that these were the skills he was looking for, in basic writing skills.

I believe yes, writing online was a different experience from writing on paper. Because I was used to writing on paper most of my life. I would say that blog entries definitely helped me to improve my writing skills abilities a lot. Because besides having good typing skills, I discovered how to develop my assignments for the rest of my school career. So I would like to say thank you to my professor Jason Smith for teaching me this wonderful new experience working online. I feel that my online work was a shared experience because I remember one of my class mates put a comment in one of my blog entries and I answered back for her comment appreciating her feedback what should be corrected in my blog entry. Yes, I read other students online work very often in order to improve on writing essays better. Yes, I got the impression that other members of the class were reading my blog entries sometimes.

My overall experience allowed me to learn very much my writing skills abilities. Because of the teacher's instruction and my dedication to succeed in this course. I would take away from this class the following skills. Developing essays in the way the professor instructed us, as thesis, introduction, evidences & reasons and final conclusion. That not only would help me in college career and also in my work. The professor covered all the subjects matter related to the course. Yes definitely I am leaving this class with a basic understanding of writing strategies. Because I can see and feel that I have improved greatly so far. The most memorable moment was the first day of class because I was excited anxious and curious about wanting to know how the class was going to be liked. I would tell to a student to set their goals for instance pay careful attention when the professor is instructing to the students. And for the students to take notes the most as they can.

Blog 20: Expanding on one topic in Sleep Dealer

Topic: c) Is this a just fight? why or why not? Group 2

In the movie " Sleep Dealer" by the author Alex Rivera, Memo the main character had a just right to fight for his cause which was to bring back water supply to his area where he came from.

In the first place: Memo the main character was fighting a private company that wanted the water supply from his town to sell it at higher prices to the citizens of Memo's home town.They took it by bombing the water supply system. And making it difficult for people in that town to get water.


In the second place: Memo had the right to fight against this private company that controlled the water supply. Because this company had an evil purpose with the water supply. Memo had help from a journalist whose name was Luz, and she helped Memo in his fight.

Finally, one of the hijackers had a change of heart because he was guilty of what he did to Memo's father, by killing him. He made the decision to help Memo to try to get water back to his home town.

In conclusion: Memo gets back the water supply that was stolen from his town by the evil private company. Memo achieved his purpose finally with the people that helped him. The town that Memo lived before had received the water back that was taken from them. So Memo achieved his goals.

Blog entry 19 " The Story of Stuff "

Annie Leonard stated in " The Story of Stuff" video, that companies are exploiting the planet's resources. And these companies are not taking care of the enviroment very well. The only things that these companies care for are selling their products and making big profits. And exploiting the people living in these countries where the resources are.

In the first place: Big companies are responsible for the stuff that are sold. In the video we saw how big companies get the resources to make their products. For instance, in the video these companies went to another country to get their resources. For example, they would cut down trees and not replace them with new trees,which happens in reality very much. The only one who benefits from these products are these companies that take these resources.

In the second place: These companies make huge profits from the sales of their products. One way they benefit is by the american consumer buying their products on a regular basis. Because a consumer after six months would buy a new product that is updated and better. Meanwhile, that product that the consumer bought is still good and it does not really have to be thrown away. In my personal experience a friend gave me an old computer instead of she throwning it away,I took it because it was still good.

Finally, we know that these companies are not good in managing the enviroment. Because people who live in those countries, depend on the environment for their resources, and making a living to support their families. So these companies need to take care and replace the resources that they take if it is possible.

My conclusion is the following: These companies need to do the right thing when they take resources from another country. By replacing what they take out of the land. So people who work in these countries can have the resources replace ounce again.

Blog entry 18 " Sleep Dealer "

" Reality and Illusion/ Truth vs. Lies"


Sleep Dealer, a movie by the author Alex Rivera speaks about a hijacker who bombed and destroyed Memo Cruz’s house killing his father, which gave him the drive to obtain the water supply. Memo moved to another city to gain access to the system through the nodes. It was a struggle but he received help from a journalist who made the shots for him, as seen in the photo about.

The star Memo Cruz lives with his family in Santa Ana Del Rio and that community has recently hijacked by a private company. These people took control of the entire area's water supply. Now the purpose of the company  is to sell the precious resource to citizens in unreasonable prices.

In Santa Ana where Memo lives with his family, he starts to feel a lot of tension and the only thing he cares about is technology. Memo finds an employment as a node worker in one of the most important factories of the northern cities, in that city he constructed a transmitter which allows him to have a wonderful experience.

 Memo found a forbidden place for the general public . Memo's purpose was to create a better future that could help him and others. Later the government realizes with evidences of Memo's radio and they see him as a threat against the government.

 As emergency memo had to go immediately to another city which was Tijuana, he hopes to find a job there and in his stay there he meets a journalist whose name was Luz. She was very helpful for him because she was the right point that allows him to follow his purpose.

 She helps Memo to connect to the network through the nodes and get a job. We can see in the picture how Memo plugs his body into the system and he discovers that the work in the factory can be fairly fantastic and useful.

In conclusion: The picture shows what wonderful and important the nodes were for Memo having taken control of the area's water supply and send some water to his family in his primary city where he was coming from. Another important item is the reality that Memo experienced that could not be changed but could be improved. But the illusion was the hopeless through the perseverance and effort that Memo struggled. Memo was always looking forward to the thruth to discover the lie. Memo established his purpose.

Blog entry 17 " Reflection"

 Michael Pollen, the author stated in his book "Defense of Food" how to eat healthy in order not to ruin our metabolism system. He stated  that the American food system for a decade established policies increasing quantity and reducing price. He reflected the importance to measure a good taste and nutritional quality. He also stated that not everyone can afford to eat well in America, that 's why regular families decide to have easier meals for instance fast food, that they know that it is the preference for most of young people and kids.

According to my understanding all the texts are connected to the food unit for instance "The Allegory of the Cave," The Truman Show, The Matrix, "Red Pill or Blue Pill" because of the following reason. Each one determines a different message which helps the community how to have a better world and what other things could be improved.
For instance in The Allegory of the Cave it was showed how those prisoners being chained for several years, just for one them being outside of the cave knew and told the other prisoners how beautiful life was out of Cave.
 In The Truman show the main star did not know that Cristoff the movie 's producer was recoding all his life without telling him that it had been done since he was born and without his consent. But for one of the mistakes that Cristoff made, allowed the main star to know that he had been cheated. In the Matrix Neo was selected by Morpheus to follow the enemy and terminate with them. Seeing all these evidences I see that every  movie leaves a different message to teach us how people can be better people and try to work on the weakness.
 I believe that In the Meatrix film,  it was used as the basis for their arguments because someone had to be selected as Neo was in The Matrix to save the world. In the Meatrix
was showed the bad treatment that those animals had, for instance not having sufficient fresh air. They were treated with antibiotic over use and artificial hormones which caused mad decease. Seeing this cruelty someone had to be selected to stop with this criminal treatment.


In reference for my last Cat practice I would say that I have a better idea after receiving an individualized class with a tutor. Since the beginning I was struggling with my thesis now I have learned  that the priority is to state the introduction with the title of film or movie in my best manner and afterwards start to state in three parts the development what was expressed in the introduction with reasons and evidences. I am still struggling with this issue, but I can say that I feel much better than the first week of this class. Also I give a good credit to this class, having a good instructor who encourage you most of the time and he always focus in what wonderful your job was and as second suggestion he states what part needs to be improved. I like the class and I always try my best to be involved in this ENG class.











          

            
         

Blog entry 16 " Let Them Eat Fat"

I believe eating fast food for instance MC Donald's is okay occasionally but just a little portion when you feel like it, but not everyday because having those meals causes many disadvantages like gain weight,  health complications and many other deceases. Is important to do  exercise to avoid getting fat and  maintain a good level of blood pressure.


In the first place many people enjoy having a fast meal, especially purchased by young black people because it is faster than any regular meal which is delicious and cheap. The author stated that  in the middle of Pasadena California the super size goes around 5 PM when children go for a quick bite, they are black kids going home from school. It demonstrates that they need to have a huge meal with sufficient calories after a  hard day they spent in the school.


In the second place we need to understand  the importance to have a good nutrition. Fast food chains and like Krispy Creme, Mc Donald's is a criticism by dietitians and nutritionists.  Because If we compare two different meals for instance a " cheeseburger" and  a " fish - mush potato with vegetables " dietitians and nutritionists are going to be happier that people have the fish meal that contains the necessary proteins and nutrients that any human being needs. Also children can focus and develop better by themselves in school not eating fast food.


In the third place we mentioned how important is to feel healthy. Having fast food every day can cause us many health complications like liver, heart or even diabetes problems. Also it is important to have a good discipline doing exercise in the daily basis to avoid getting fat. We need to avoid the spices and also salt.


In conclusion when we are talking about fast food is okay for any human being  to eat fast food but occasionally and not everyday. And eating more healthy food in the daily basis to avoid any kind of deceases or health problems.

Blog entry 15 The Meatrix

I see that in The Meatrix movie " Factory Farming" Morpheus selected Leo to save the animal world. Morpheus' purpose was to end with antibiotics, deceases, bad smell and pollution. Morpheus believed that Leo might have the ability to end with this cruelty. 

In the beginning Morpheus advised Leo to choose what pill he would like to take in order to see the real world. Leo made the decision to take the red pill and he saw a world that he could never ever imagined. 

Leo observed all the bad treatment those animals had,  for instance cows were treated cruelty not having sufficient fresh air. Those cows were with antibiotic over use and artificial hormones which caused mad cow decease. 

Seeing this cruelty we analyzed how abused those animals are and what kind of animals products we consume in the daily basis. For instance we are wondering what kind of meat we eat having those animals intoxicated with such pollution.

In conclusion Leo was the right person to save the animals world and also the intoxicated animals products that were destroying the community. That's why Leo as consumer had the power to stop with this cruelty by Morpheus' instruction. In my personal opinion now I understand better why so many people avoid eating meat. So they do not really know where it is coming from. We need to prevent any kind of decease as human being eating fresh food. And we need to focus more in the quality and no in the quantity and cost of it.

Blog Entry 14 The Meatrix

I believe that the makers of "The Meatrix films" used "The Matrix" as basis for their arguments because the good people, who where trying to save the world, they were most of the time trying to control or kill the enemy.


The possible connection I have noticed with The food industry "The Meatrix" with 'The Matrix" are: someone was selected to make a decision how to stop those criminals that without caring about anything they abuse of those poor animals in order to produce more and more and become more rich.


In comparison with the Matrix, Morpheus had faith that Neo would be "the one" who would be able to save the world from the domination that was generated by the Matrix program.


And the assimilation with the "Meatrix film" was that in the beginning the person selected to save the life for those abused and poor animals, did not feel confident and unable to believe that he could succeed over the enemy.  Eventually this person got the victory to save the world for those animals as Neo did in the Matrix film.

Blog Entry 13 Watching a movie.

Usually,  when I watch any kind of movies, for instance drama, comedy, action or fiction my feelings are very remarkable. Many  type of  these movies touch me emotionally. For instance  in an unreal movie when a human being has lost someone like a family member, it makes me feel part of that movie. 


When I was watching the Matrix movie, I found it very interesting. I had a lot of nervous while I watched it. 
The Matrix was  a computer generated program of a world that  was not real and anybody who apposed  that reality was an enemy.
 When Morpheus and Neo went into the Matrix the  agents wanted Neo dead.
Morpheus had faith that Neo would be the one who would be able to save the real world from artificial intelligent domination that was generated by the Matrix program.
Neo first struggle to believe what Morpheus was telling him that he was the one that would save the world. In the beginning Neo felt weak, without confidence and unable to believe that Morpheus was telling him the truth. Eventually, Neo had the victory over his fears because he defeated the agents in the Matrix. 
All these details placed me with intrigue because I did not know how the movie was going to end.

I never going to forget when I watched a movie which name was " Ghost" this movie was basically about a couple they were in relationship for several years.
The man used to work for an investment company and one of his best friends and co-workers was looking for the possibility how to steal the wallet from his co-worker in order to obtain a password to access to one of the accounts from one those investors and benefit himself.


 Unfortunately the bad news was that the good guy who was dating for several years with his girlfriend was assassinated. This scene was exactly related with one of the reasons and examples that I mentioned previously.
It really touched my feelings because even it was unreal movie, it made think how I could protect myself from bad people and keep a reservation and confidentiality.


This nice guy trusted on his best friend who was pretending being  his friend and he sent a criminal to kill him. The message I could obtain in this movie taught me how to keep my confidentiality the most as I can in order not to have bad experiences like trusting in someone who we do not know well. 


In conclusion any kind of movies is going to make me feel emotional sensitive and sad.  I need to understand that they are movies, but even they are unreal, they leave a message how we could improve our lives or how we could improve our mistakes.

Blog Entry 12: Reflection and Evaluation

So far taking this class, I feel a little more familiar with the basic information that the professor is requesting from us as students.

In the beginning, it was not easy for me because I had many difficulties following simple directions in the way that the professor wanted from the students to complete the essays.

 I can say that I love computer assignments, but I prefer to have my essays done manually in a piece of paper because I feel that it gives me more possibilities to have my CAT writing final in a better an organized manner.

 That would be one of the main reasons that I would rather to have a little more often my practices for my essays to be done in a piece of paper.

 I also think  that I am still struggling  with thesis, claim, reason and evidence, I mean organizing the structure of the essay.

 Because I am under the impression that when I need to express in writing any kind of story spontaneously,  I usually  express my point of view without thinking what is going to be stated  as claim, evidence and  reason that is required for an essay.

 I can say that I have my best intention to pass this class but I feel a little concerned because I feel that the performance that I expect from myself, in comparison with other previous courses,  I do not see so successful so far. I am thinking in trying to have some tutoring, in order to obtain a clear idea.

In reference with the two movies I have seen so far, I guess It was a good practice  and very helpful to indicate the three steps that the professor requires in an essay.

In conclusion I think that I need to take the time to start with the root that the professor requires from us as students and continue practicing essays the most as I can.

The professor has a very good personality with the students, and I have observed that he  is always ready to respond to the students with a good attitude. And in my personal opinion this is a very good valid point to the class and also a good encouragement for myself as student.

Blog Entry 11 CAT-W Practice

In my opinion, Timothy Sexton states that it is very remarkable how many dangerous messages can be sent out by TV and ruin and convince the mind for many young people.

I would say that it is really true , how people can be convinced or being enthusiastic for a TV message that is shown many times in a commercial.

Usually TV reinforces you to convince people that you need to get that product, and it does not matter what effect you could obtain of it, but the message that is being shown by the author is that TV looks for conviction, competition and reinforcement, in order for them to succeed.

In my personal experience I had the opportunity to be working in two different business. I am never going to forget what competitive was each company and also the ability to convince people.

Comparing with one of the passages that says that  they have the ability molding the minds of its young fans. In general when you receive a message by TV that you consider that it is dangerous, it is better to feel that conviction instead of allowing them to convince you. 

Also is important to analyze and use common sense, because if you feel that the message that is being received does not convince you, it's better to use your own judgment and say no.

 Years ago I used to work for a light bulb company in sales department. I remember very clear when one of the trainers said to us that if the customer says that the merchandise does not have a good quality you need to accept that input because if the customer is not happy with our product, he has the right not to buy light bulbs anymore from us, and go to another place.

That's why is more important to go to a field presentation instead of watching dangerous ads are sent out by TV that can confuse people and ruin your mind.

 In reality TV needs audience, needs to succeed with it's image,  needs to keep the ability how the message is going to be delivered and enter in our mind, and especially in young people.

In other words the message that Timothy Sexton, the author states is that dangerous messages that are sent out by TV can easily confuse, and allow us to confuse our mind completely.

In my personal opinion the most important is our conviction, own judgement and knowledge, because the dangers or reality TV are every day in our lives.

Another evidence was, when I had the opportunity to talk to one of my best friends, and she stated that her child was not paying attention in class and she was desperate with this issue, because she had been diagnosed with ADHD attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

She was against of prescribed medicines, and she made the comment to me that she had watched on TV a message about natural medicines, and it was especially for children who are diagnosed with this medical disorder.

She stated that the message on TV was delivered with sufficient conviction for the customer, and by the time she made the decision to provide the natural medicine for her child, it did not have a satisfactory result that she expected.

 I informed to my friend that she should not guide herself for a simple commercial or message that was sent out by TV.

In conclusion according to this story, this is the exact information Timothy Sexton states about dangerous messages being sent out by TV, because the only purpose for them is to mold your mind , have the ability to convince people and obtain the good value of their image.

Blog 10 Review The Matrix

Claim:
The Matrix is a computer generated program of a world that is not real and anybody who apposes that reality is an enemy. When Morpheus and Neo went into the Matrix the police and agents went after them to kill them.  
Reason:
Morpheus had faith that Neo would be the one who be able to save the real world from artificial intelligent domination that was generated by the Matrix program.

In the beginning Neo felt weak, without confidence and unable to believe that Morpheus was telling him the truth. Eventually, Neo had the victory over his fears because he defeated the agents in the Matrix.  

Blog Entry 9: Describing my experience with The Matrix discussion telecommute.

As soon as I finished my daily work, I started to read the information posted in " Living in the Matrix" to familiarize and feel ready to follow the right directions. I answered  the Matrix quiz questions as my best and  I also responded to one of the questions that the professor had indicated to us to respond. I need to confess that I felt very nervous in the beginning of class, because I did not have anybody who could guide me following simple directions  and I honestly did not feel  so competent trying to complete my assignments following directions on line. I prefer a regular class in case I have any question, I can share it with any other student or with the professor. But I took the positive way, having learned  something new how to manage myself on line little by little and also the interaction with different students was very interesting and helpful. I hope for my next time assignment on line  to be  easier than that day.  

Entry 8: Responding to a significant topic in The Truman Show

Topic 1


The story is talking about a person whose name is Truman. He wishes to have a regular life without complications and obtain his happiness. Truman is  in his thirties and he works as a salesman for an insurance company and he lives in a beautiful city which name is Seahaven and it is located in an Island. Truman seems to have a very nice sense of humor and a very good heart with others and he says that something is not going right on his life and later he discovers  the truth, and he starts to realize about the reality . " The Truman Show"  producers start to fail with certain mistakes and make Truman think about the reality. Truman made the decision to leave his town Seahaven, when he understood that everybody the audience was involved in his life. He tells his family friends and wife that he is going to a place that he likes very much which name is Fiji. There in Fiji he met a beautiful woman, and he feels very enthusiastic and happy because he realizes that is a real life for him but his producer, Cristoff allows him to know the truth and tell him that is better for him to be in Seahaven and Truman after knowing Cristoff's words knew that his entire life was a fake TV studio. Truman never wanted to leave his Island despite of his fear of water, when he was a child and he saw his father drown in a storm. After this long trip as a show,  Truman knew the real truth that was around him.
I disagree with Cristoff 's decision, for the following reason:
Usually producers want to succeed and demonstrate his or her talent in order to have a high percentage of audience and show the world what can be done or what needs to be improved. But I disagree completely with Cristoff about having done a film without asking for permission. I would not like to be in Truman 's shoes and feel victim that I have been recorded for my entire life and just to show the world about something that I do not know. We can obtain many different ways in order to record our lives and show the world about a reality. And also be prepared to start with a show that I have the knowledge that is a show.

Blog 7 Reflection and Evaluation

Since I have started with this new course, I felt very enthusiastic, encouraged  and confident about taking this class. In the beginning I felt uncomfortable and very lost, because I thought that I was lost somewhere else not understanding the instructions that the teacher was giving to the students. He was talking too fast for me to understand him,  plus he had too many instructions posted in " Living in The Matrix" which made me feel confused on how to follow the instructions. But since then, I am able to read more clearly the instructions on the " Matrix" giving by the teacher. Nowadays I am adopting to his style of teaching. And I made the decision to be seated in front of the class to better understand the instructions the teacher is teaching. Now my essays are better since I started this class three weeks ago. I have learned so much and the teacher has a good sense of humor when he teaches this class. Now concerning myself I feel that I still have a lot to learn. For example, how to organize the main ideas in a paragraph and how to demonstrate sufficient evidence and support for the reader to understand. But I have come to learn so far well in my writing skills. I hope to improve well in the future as I learn to write better. I would also say that these kind of courses have helped me not only for school but also for my job skills. Which enable me to write in a better manner in the comment section for clients details information. So far I hope to improve my writing skills by the time this course is finish. So far the teacher is doing a good job improving the students writing skills.

Blog 6 Review Socrates' and Plato's Allegory

Plato's cave is an allegory used by the Greek philosopher Plato. It is a written and  fictional dialogue. Plato describes a group of people who have lived chained to the wall of a cave all of their lives. When we are talking about a fiction, it is not easy to think about  being chained unless we could think hundred of years ago when it was common for prisoners to be chained.  I had an experience years ago, when I was working as a bartender in the night shift until four o clock in the morning. I used to wear a dress as a uniform, and by the time my shift ended  everybody used to go to the  restrooms in order to be changed with their regular clothes. I was never going to forget my scary and terrible experience. I remember having opened the bathroom door to change into my regular clothes and there was silence, no noises at all.When I left the bathroom to go to exit the main entrance, the door was locked and chained. While I was taking my own time to get dressed, one of the managers forgot that someone was still inside the place, so I was still inside. I was  nervous, scared, worried and sad thinking about what I could do. I started to yell very loud in order for someone to hear from me,  and  I also prayed to God  asking to please to help me to get out from my work place. At that time I said to myself that God heard from me and answered my prayer. There was someone who heard my voice while I was yelling loud. The good news was that one  of the other managers  was sleeping in the basement. I explained to him that I was locked inside. And he opened the door for me and I left the place to get home safe. It was a real story having been chained and locked inside my work place. That is an experience that I would never ever forget. I would say that I used every necessary tools in order to save my life and having learned a good lesson with this terrible experience.

Even though this was a real experience, I wish it was a dream but It was not. I would have prefer that it was not real, because I do not want to remember this part of my life ever again. It scared me to be locked inside in a dark place just by myself. I made sure that in the future I would never be locked in again anywhere. When I came out from my work place I felt free, like the prisoner that came out from the darkness into the light. I felt liberated from my prison chains. I went back home happy and satisfied that nothing bad happened to me.

Blog entry 5: " Allegory of The Cave"

In this video " Allegory of The Cave" by Plato. Plato shows prisoners that have been in a cave their entire lives. They are chained up and cannot see anything behind them. And in front of them is a wall, where they see shadows of people and other things passing by. They also hear echoing sounds around them. The reason they see shadows is because there is a fire burning behind them. That makes images that show up on the wall in front of the prisoners that appear to them. In the video it stated that imagine that one of the prisoners was set free. When the prisoner went outside he saw a world that he can never ever have imagined. He saw a woman and different objects. And  Also he heard different sounds that made him so excited, that he went back to the cave to tell the others prisoners about his experiences. But the others prisoners did not understand,
what he was talking about. Because to the other prisoners he was just another shadow and echoing sounds, like the ones that they have seen all their lives.

Blog 4 " Hype Workshop"

Adverstisements are the most frequent toxic of the mental pollutants. It is unbelievable how we can see and hear advertisement everywhere. One of the important items mentioned in this passage, which I felt very impressed, when it said that billion of commercials from different sites, like radio, TV are dumped into North America.  I would say that this point is very valid, for the following reason: if media would not exist, humanity could not keep infomed of what is happening in the world, so media is very important for our society. I mostly agree with the author saying that advertisements are important and popular.

Hype by Kalle Lasn talks about that nowadays we can see and hear advertisements everyday, everywhere and anytime, and nobody is exempt to see them. We can see advertisements on TV, on the radio, buses, stadiums or even in a classroom. The author also mentioned that even when we are shoping we can not be exempt and we can see a logo or product message.

Adverstisements has floated our lives from so many ways. That they want to make sure that people buy their products. So they put their advertisements in so many places for us to see. Like for example, you see advertisements on TV, hear on the radio, or billboards on the highways, and even on your computer you see so many ads on the internet.

So now we see we can not escape the advertisements that companies want us to see about their products that they want us as consumers to buy. Because companies want us as consumers for life.

In the second passage is being shown how many things can happen any hour, minute or second. For example filling your car with gas, going to a bank to get some money, you take your highway and by the time you are driving you can see different billboards with important messages, also children being in class osbserve different Pepsi and Snikers ads. I would say that this is the world that we live, where a teacher, a student, a  businessman a babysitter, a housewife or anybody is around adverstisements. In the line which says that nobody is exempt, it is really true because anywhere that you go you can see an advertising.  Sometimes we could be tired about advertisements, being repetead hundred of times, but we need to obtain the importance that it helps customers to obtain the best product in quality, quantity and cost. Another important detail is, the more advertisements appear the more goods are sold.

Hype by Kalle Lasn talks about that nowadays we can see and hear advertisements everyday, everywhere and anytime, and nobody is exempt to see them. We can see advertisements on TV, on the radio, buses, stadiums or even in a classroom. 1- What did you get from thinking about annotations with the class?
I would say that this is a very valid point in order to have an organized essay, with an introduction, a body and conclusion.

2- What did you get from writing annotations for "Is Google Making Us Stupid?" with your partner?
I would say it does not make sense with my partner. Google helps me to find answers for things  that I research for.

3- What did you learn about the reading by annotating it?
I learned how to get  the most important ideas and  highlighting the information that I need.

4- How may annotating make you a better writer?
It would make me a better writer if I check carefully all  the details that could make sense for the reader to read.
